Semiconductor manufacturer GlobalFoundries is overhauling its digital infrastructure by integrating the Redpanda data platform to unify real-time manufacturing, engineering, and business data. The move aims to replace legacy change-data-capture systems, providing the high-speed data foundation necessary for the company to deploy a new generation of AI-driven agents across its global facilities.
Beyond basic data streaming, GlobalFoundries is utilizing Redpanda’s Agentic Data Plane to develop specialized AI agents. These tools are designed to automate tasks and provide actionable insights across IT and procurement departments. Redpanda CEO Alex Gallego noted that the platform is engineered to provide the strict governance and confidentiality standards inherent to semiconductor manufacturing, while allowing both human teams and autonomous AI agents to interact with live data simultaneously. Tier-0 systems are already operational, with plans to scale the integration further as the company embeds real-time analytics into its core workflows.
