Nom Nom Debuts Scoopable Frozen Clusters to Simplify Pet Mealtime

Pet parents struggling with the logistics of defrosting fresh-frozen dog food have a new option hitting shelves this month. Mars Petcare brand Nom Nom is introducing Scoopable Meal Clusters, a product designed to bypass overnight thawing, allowing owners to pour, scoop, and serve a balanced meal in just fifteen minutes.

The new clusters, colloquially dubbed Nombles, aim to solve a persistent friction point in the fresh pet food category: the difficulty of portioning and storing frozen meals. By creating a format that remains scoopable directly from the freezer, the company allows owners to serve the food as a complete meal or use it as a nutrient-dense topper. The product is launching in two varieties—Chicken & Sweet Potato and Beef & Potato—both of which meet AAFCO nutritional guidelines for all life stages.

Rachel Porges, Chief Innovation & Brand Development Officer at Nom Nom, noted that the product is intended to make high-quality, veterinarian-developed nutrition more accessible and flexible for daily routines. The distribution strategy separates the product by channel: e-commerce customers can purchase six-pound bags, while specialty retail stores will carry 3.5-pound upright bags designed for freezer shelf displays. The rollout begins at SuperZoo, with the brand expanding availability across national retail partners following the debut.
