The company’s net income reached $10.2 million for the period, a sharp turnaround from the $3.9 million loss reported in the first quarter. CEO Charles Young attributed this performance to consistent demand for high-quality Northern White sand, driven by the expansion of LNG export capacity and the rising power requirements of AI data centers.

Operational efficiency improved as the firm moved more volume through its own terminals, helping to offset the rising cost of goods sold, which climbed to $95.2 million. Looking ahead, Smart Sand expects 2026 sales volumes to grow by 10% to 20% over 2025 levels. As part of its capital return strategy, the company has distributed roughly $12.1 million to shareholders this year via dividends and share repurchases. Additionally, the firm announced a leadership shift, with General Counsel James Young slated to replace CFO Lee Beckelman on January 1, 2027.
