Four of these—including the grueling 100K Odyssée—serve as gateways to the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc finals in Chamonix. Athletes begin their ascent into the Laurentians on Saturday at 5 a.m., with some expected to navigate the rugged terrain for over 18 hours. Beyond the competition, the pedestrian village acts as a cultural hub, where organizers have integrated Québec folklore, such as the legend of the chasse-galerie, and local culinary staples like maple fudge into the race-day experience.

Mont-Tremblant Becomes Canada’s Newest Global Trail Running Hub
Nearly 4,000 runners from 44 countries are descending on Québec this week as Mont-Tremblant hosts its first-ever UTMB World Series event. The inaugural Boréalys Mont-Tremblant, running August 14–16, signals the province’s official entry into the premier international trail circuit, blending high-stakes competition with deep regional heritage.
The logistical effort is massive, supported by 370 volunteers and a series of spectator zones at Domaine Saint-Bernard, Pic White, and Base Nord. While elite runners like Elliot Cardin and Claudine Soucie headline the Odyssée 100K, the event’s impact extends to the local community. Through solidarity bibs and relay participation, the event has already secured $160,000 for the Tremblant Foundation and the Québec Epilepsy Association. General manager Samuel Matte-Thibault views the weekend as a defining milestone, noting that the event aims to bridge international prestige with the specific identity of the region.
