Einstein Bros. Bagels Revives Pumpkin Menu After Seven-Year Hiatus

After a seven-year absence, the Pumpkin Bagel and its signature Pumpkin Shmear are returning to Einstein Bros. Bagels. The chain is anchoring its 2026 fall lineup with these legacy items, supported by a digital-exclusive early access period beginning August 19 and a broad national release scheduled for August 26.

To build momentum for the launch, the Denver-based bagel chain will host a promotional event on August 22 where children seven and younger can receive a complimentary Pumpkin Bagel and Shmear with any purchase. Customers must mention the “Pumpkin Kids offer” at participating bakeries to redeem the promotion, which is limited to five per transaction.

Beyond the returning classics, the company is introducing shareable menu additions to capitalize on shifting consumer preferences for interactive food experiences. New items include $3 Pull-Apart Bagels in Pumpkin Crunch and Cinnamon Sugar varieties, alongside a $1.99 Creme Brulee Iced Coffee. Chief Marketing Officer Jessica Serrano noted that the strategy aims to blend consumer nostalgia with modern demand for shareable, textured bakery products. This push aligns with broader industry forecasts, including data from Coherent Market Insights projecting pumpkin-flavored product spending to exceed $1.2 billion this year.
