Scald Guard Aims to Prevent Bathroom Faucet Burns

Driven by the desire to protect his two young children from accidental burns, a London, Ontario-based inventor has designed the Scald Guard. This patent-pending accessory acts as a protective barrier for single-handle faucets, preventing users—particularly children and the elderly—from inadvertently triggering a flow of scalding hot water.

The device features an adjustable architecture compatible with most standard faucets, allowing for installation without permanent plumbing modifications. By restricting the handle's range of motion, the accessory offers a practical layer of safety for domestic environments. A physical prototype currently exists to demonstrate the mechanism.

The design is currently represented by InventHelp, which is seeking licensing agreements or outright sales to manufacturers and marketers. Interested parties can reference the project under code 25-TRO-1677 for further technical specifications or partnership inquiries.
