Trafalgar International Rebrands, Pivots to Financial Services

Trafalgar International, formerly known as The Greater Cannabis Company, has finalized a corporate name change in Florida as it transitions into a U.S.-based public platform for financial services and technology. The move marks a clean break from the firm’s past, with new ownership signaling a strategy focused on cross-border investment.

Trafalgar International Rebrands, Pivots to Financial Services

Trafalgar Asset Management LLC recently secured control of the company by acquiring approximately 96.6% of the voting power. This shift has prompted a total strategic overhaul, moving the entity away from its previous association with the cannabis industry. While the firm still holds legacy intellectual property related to delivery technologies, management views these assets as non-core and is currently evaluating options for their future disposition.

The company is now awaiting FINRA processing to finalize its new trading symbol and CUSIP, which will replace the current GCAN identifier. Under the leadership of Chairman Porfirio Sánchez Talavera, the firm intends to leverage the Trafalgar group’s history—which includes securing Mexico’s first electronic payment institution license in 2018—to pursue growth across regulated markets in the United States and Latin America. The platform is designed to facilitate acquisitions and business combinations, positioning the company as a vehicle for institutional-grade financial development rather than its former operations.
