The facility, located at the Gainesville 85 Business Center in Hall County, aims to replace traditional rigid plastics with high-barrier fiber trays. By utilizing patent-pending technology and precision automation, the plant is expected to create more than 100 jobs while significantly reducing lead times for domestic processors. Cirkla CEO Vaibhav Goel noted that the expansion follows successful manufacturing operations in India, allowing the company to bring proven, large-scale production capabilities directly to the American market.

Cirkla to Open First U.S. Molded Fiber Packaging Plant in Georgia
Gainesville, known as the poultry capital of the world, will become the hub for Cirkla’s first domestic manufacturing facility. Slated to begin production in early 2027, the plant marks a strategic move to scale sustainable, fiber-based meat packaging for major U.S. protein brands and grocery retailers.
Governor Brian P. Kemp highlighted the role of state infrastructure, specifically the new Gainesville Inland Port, in attracting the project. Local officials, including Gainesville Mayor Zack Thompson and Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce President Tim Evans, emphasized that the region's existing concentration of food processing and packaging expertise provides a natural ecosystem for Cirkla’s growth. The company’s molded fiber products, crafted from agricultural byproducts like sugarcane bagasse and bamboo, are designed to integrate seamlessly into existing supply chains, supporting national sustainability goals without compromising product freshness.
