Shanghai to Host ICOMIA World Marinas Conference 2027

The International Council of Marine Industry Associations has unveiled the preliminary programme for the 2027 World Marinas Conference, scheduled for March 30 to April 2 in Shanghai. This marks the first time the flagship event will be held in Mainland China, signaling a shift in global waterfront development focus.

The conference, hosted by Sinoexpo Informa Markets, aims to bridge the gap between global industry pioneers and the rapidly expanding Asia-Pacific market. Sessions will cover a broad spectrum of industry needs, ranging from macro-level investment strategies and master planning to the integration of artificial intelligence in marina operations. The event is structured to highlight the evolution of marinas from simple docking points into multifaceted economic and residential hubs.

Attendees can expect a dense schedule featuring technical workshops, site tours of Shanghai’s port infrastructure, and specialized B2B matchmaking sessions. The program also addresses the industry's twin transitions toward environmental sustainability and digital transformation. Early bird registration is currently open, with discounted rates available until September 30, 2026. Following the success of the 2025 Venice event, which drew over 650 delegates, organizers anticipate a similar international turnout of investors, government representatives, and developers seeking to capitalize on the region’s growing influence.
