Tillamook Plants a Giant Cheddar Loaf on Route 66

A 32,000-fold replica of a Tillamook Medium Cheddar Baby Loaf has landed at the Americana Motor Hotel in Flagstaff, Arizona. The oversized installation, dubbed the Cheeseside Attraction, marks a whimsical expansion of the Oregon-based dairy cooperative onto the historic Route 66 Cheese Trail ahead of Labor Day weekend.

The monument serves as the centerpiece for a brand takeover running through September 7. Travelers visiting the retro-futuristic motel will find the property transformed into a dairy-themed destination, complete with custom-decorated suites and poolside programming. The collaboration extends to the hotel’s Far Out Food takeout window, which will feature a limited-edition menu highlighting cheddar-centric breakfast sandwiches, wedge salads, and root beer floats made with Tillamook ice cream.

An official unveiling is scheduled for August 29, featuring public tastings and photo opportunities. Beyond the temporary menu, the hotel is offering a dedicated "Cheeseside Stay" package for guests who want to immerse themselves in the brand's aesthetic. For those just passing through, the creamery will provide additional product samples between September 4 and September 6, aiming to turn a standard Arizona pit stop into a branded experience for cross-country motorists.
