Google integrates interactive AI tools into Search and Gemini

To capture the student demographic, Google has unveiled a suite of AI-driven study features across its Search engine and Gemini assistant. These tools, ranging from 3D simulations to automated quiz generation, are designed to position the company as a primary academic resource against rivals like OpenAI, Knowt, and Gauth.

Students can now leverage AI Overviews in Search to visualize complex concepts through interactive graphics. By inputting specific prompts, users generate custom simulations, such as pH scale plotting or SAT-focused vocabulary quizzes. The update extends to Google Lens, which now allows students to photograph handwritten notes or textbook problems, receiving step-by-step guidance and error identification from the AI.

Within Gemini, the focus shifts to deeper research and organizational tasks. Gemini Live now supports multi-step background reporting, allowing users to initiate a research project and review findings via voice conversation once complete. Additionally, a dedicated student hub within the Gemini app consolidates flashcard creation, study notebooks, and practice sessions. These responses now incorporate dynamic tables and 3D models, enabling users to manipulate structures like DNA directly within the interface for a more hands-on learning experience.
