540’s AI Control Plane Gains Awardable Status on Tradewinds Marketplace

Government agencies seeking to transition from AI experimentation to production now have a streamlined procurement path. The Department of War’s Tradewinds Solutions Marketplace has granted "Awardable" status to 540’s AI & API Control Plane, effectively bypassing the lengthy vendor competition process for federal buyers.

The designation follows an independent assessment of 540’s platform, which functions as a governed API layer connecting existing enterprise data, mission systems, and AI models. By validating the technology against federal requirements, the CDAO allows agencies to bypass the typical year-long procurement cycle. According to CEO Chris Bock, the move addresses a shift in government priorities from theoretical AI adoption to the secure integration of tools into established infrastructure.

540 currently maintains deployments across IL2, IL4/5, and IL6 environments. President and CTO Trey White noted that the status change serves to accelerate implementation timelines, allowing technical teams to deploy production-ready workloads immediately rather than spending months on vendor selection. Government users with .gov or .mil credentials can now access the solution directly through the Tradewinds portal.
