General Intuition Nears $6 Billion Valuation in Robotics AI Push

A mere weeks after securing a $2.3 billion valuation, General Intuition is already in talks to raise capital at a $6 billion price tag. The startup, which trains foundation models to navigate physical space, has attracted heavy hitters like Valor Equity Partners and Point72 Ventures to its latest oversubscribed round.

General Intuition Nears $6 Billion Valuation in Robotics AI Push

CEO Pim de Witte launched the company last October, spinning it out of his video game clipping platform, Medal. By leveraging hundreds of millions of hours of gameplay data—specifically the "action labels" that track precise button inputs—the startup aims to teach AI how to generalize across tasks without explicit training. Vinod Khosla, a key backer, views these action labels as the fundamental building blocks for machine intuition.

Existing investors General Catalyst and Khosla Ventures are also participating in the new funding effort. The company plans to funnel these resources into compute infrastructure, bolstered by a partnership with CoreWeave, and an aggressive push to hire top-tier engineering talent. The capital will specifically accelerate the development of robotic embodiments, a strategic pivot that has drawn attention from firms like Valor Equity Partners, which is reportedly making its first AI lab investment since backing SpaceX.
