Uncle's Obsession with Cute Things Expands Voice Cast for October Premiere

The series centers on Mitsuki Oji, a charismatic office manager who hides a deep affection for cute characters, specifically his mascot favorite, Pugtaro. Takuya Eguchi joins the ensemble as Kenta Kawai, Yuki Kaji takes on the role of Wataru Naruto, and Ayumu Murase provides the voice for Masumi Nii. They join lead actors Kazuyuki Okitsu, who voices Oji, and Miyu Tomita, who portrays Pugtaro.

Reflecting on the production, Kaji noted that the project offered a unique challenge, allowing him to explore a character outside his usual age range. The anime is helmed by director Tomoe Makino at studio LIDENFILMS, with Yutaka Sato managing series composition and Yumi Kimura overseeing character designs. The team aims to capture the specific balance of humor and sincerity found in the original source material.
