The four-month certification process involved a significant overhaul of shop floor operations. To meet the rigorous ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII standards, the facility integrated Submerged Arc Welding technology, an automated process designed to ensure high-deposition consistency for large-scale tanks and heavy components. Management also formalized new Procedure Qualification Records and hydrostatic testing protocols to align with industry-mandated instrumentation requirements.

Taco Lubbock Secures ASME Certification to Boost Pressure Vessel Output
The Lubbock, Texas, facility of Taco has secured both the ASME "U" Stamp and National Board "R" Stamp following a joint review that yielded zero findings. This milestone allows the plant to manage the entire lifecycle of pressure vessel production, from initial design through final fabrication and repair.

Beyond technological upgrades, the facility refined its internal quality management systems and documentation standards. Senior Quality Technician Israel Márquez emphasized that the achievement reflects a collective focus on engineering precision. Vice President Justin Pena credited the swift completion of the audit to the facility’s specialized workforce, noting that the new credentials allow the plant to handle complex projects with greater autonomy. By aligning its welders with ASME Section IX standards, Taco Lubbock has effectively transitioned into a full-service manufacturing site, capable of executing sophisticated pressure-retaining equipment repairs and alterations in-house.
