Tampa General Hospital Ranks Among Top Employers for Women

Women comprise over 77% of the hospital’s total staff, with significant representation in senior tiers. According to hospital data, nearly 72% of leadership roles and approximately 49% of executive positions are currently held by women. These figures are supported by internal career pathways, including mentorship, tuition assistance, and leadership development programs. During the 2026 fiscal year, women received 78.4% of all internal promotions, signaling a tangible outcome of the organization’s recruitment and retention strategies.

John Couris, president and CEO of Florida Health Sciences Center, credited the recognition to a culture where intentional investment in staff directly influences clinical quality. Beyond career growth, the health system integrates mental health resources, flexible benefits, and family-care support to address the personal needs of its employees. The rankings, compiled with research firm Statista, evaluate organizations based on independent surveys regarding workplace culture, compensation, and diversity initiatives. This honor joins a growing list of national accolades for the system, including recognition as one of America's Best Large Employers.
