Under the new 'Medical with Smart Coverage' offering, eligible employees can receive up to $7,000 in supplemental funds. These payments are designed to cover not only direct medical expenses but also daily costs like transportation and child care. Bryan Holgerson, President of Cigna Healthcare U.S., noted that the integration addresses the financial pressure caused by inflation and rising healthcare costs, providing a more meaningful safety net for those enrolled in high-deductible health plans. According to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data, such plans have become standard for half of all workers with employer-sponsored coverage, making the need for accessible supplemental support increasingly critical.
