The ship represents a significant expansion for the brand, serving as the first of five planned Sonata-class vessels. While the ship is roughly 30% larger than the preceding Oceania Allura, the design adds only 90 extra accommodations, prioritizing open space and luxury. The vessel will feature 695 rooms and suites, including new categories like the 600-square-foot Horizon Suites and four two-bedroom Owner’s Suites.
Paolo Novarino, Senior Director at Oceania Cruises, joined Fincantieri leadership to observe the float-out. The launch extends a nearly two-decade partnership between the two companies, which has previously delivered ships including the Oceania Marina, Riviera, Vista, and Allura. Following the completion of the exterior, focus now shifts to the 13 onboard dining venues, which will include new culinary concepts such as La Table par Maîtres Cuisiniers de France and Nikkei Kitchen.
