The capital infusion, part of a broader C$91 million financing round for the Canadian firm, allows Tintina Mines to consolidate full ownership of the Dos Amigos site. This project, currently in its development stage, holds an estimated 101 million metric tons of measured and indicated resources, with an additional 256 million metric tons inferred. Officials anticipate a 25-year mine life, projecting annual production of 37,000 metric tons of copper and 57,000 ounces of gold.

Sumitomo Corporation Expands Chile Copper Footprint via Tintina Mines
Sumitomo Corporation has entered the Dos Amigos copper-gold project in Chile’s Atacama Region, securing a stake through a strategic partnership with the G Mining Group. By investing C$48 million into a Tintina Mines private placement, the firm gains a 12.5% effective economic interest in the development.

Strategic advantages for the site include proximity to existing power and transport infrastructure and a relatively low-elevation profile. The investment is managed through a special purpose vehicle co-funded by Sumitomo and the G Mining Group. This collaboration leverages G Mining’s technical expertise in project delivery to navigate the complexities of modern mine development, aiming to move the asset toward a final investment decision while bolstering Sumitomo’s long-term mineral resource portfolio.
