CFO Steven Thomas to Depart Mountain Province Diamonds

Mountain Province Diamonds announced that Chief Financial Officer Steven Thomas will step down from his position on September 1, 2026. Thomas, who served the Toronto-based mining company for four years, will remain in an advisory capacity throughout the transition period to assist with the handover of his financial duties.

Chairman Jonathan Comerford credited Thomas with guiding the firm through a volatile period of significant operational change. The company, which holds a 49% stake in the Gahcho Kué diamond mine in the Northwest Territories alongside De Beers Canada, is currently managing extensive exploration assets. These include the Kelvin kimberlite, estimated at 13.62 million carats, and the Faraday deposits, which hold combined resources of over 7 million carats.

While the search for a successor begins, the company continues to focus on its joint venture obligations. Mountain Province controls approximately 96,000 hectares of mineral claims surrounding the primary mine site, maintaining a long-term development strategy despite shifting leadership in the executive suite.
