Chicco and CarGurus Team Up to Simplify Family Vehicle Safety

Parents often treat car purchases and seat installations as separate tasks, but new research suggests this disconnect puts children at risk. To bridge the gap, Chicco and CarGurus are launching The Family Fit Factor, an educational initiative designed to help families align their vehicle choice with car seat requirements.

Chicco and CarGurus Team Up to Simplify Family Vehicle Safety

The project debuts this September, coinciding with Baby Safety Month, to address the reality that nearly half of all car seats are installed incorrectly. With 52% of parents juggling multiple car seats in a single vehicle, the initiative provides step-by-step installation guides, expert advice, and a dedicated episode of the podcast The Driveway. The collaboration stems from data indicating that households with children are twice as likely to purchase a new vehicle specifically due to lifestyle changes. William Hasse, Vice President of Marketing for Chicco USA, emphasizes that the partnership aims to move beyond basic shopping, helping parents understand how specific vehicle layouts and seat models function in tandem. Automotive experts and safety technicians are encouraging families to prioritize future-forward vehicle designs that accommodate multiple seats and to avoid rushing through safety transitions as children grow. Resources are currently available on both the Chicco and CarGurus websites.
