The new vessels, designed to accommodate 1,000 passengers and provide 5,400 lane meters of cargo space, will serve routes linking Sweden, Germany, Poland, and Lithuania. By integrating battery-hybrid technology with LNG power, TT-Line aims to set a benchmark for carbon emission reduction and energy efficiency in regional ferry operations. The order, which was booked during the second quarter of 2026, represents one of the most extensive RoPax equipment scopes MacGregor has managed to date.

MacGregor to Outfit TT-Line’s New Green Ship 2.0 Ferry Fleet
Two 240-meter battery-hybrid LNG ferries destined for Baltic Sea transit will feature a comprehensive suite of RoRo equipment from MacGregor. The contract, secured with China Merchants Jinling Shipyard, marks a significant expansion in the partnership between the three companies to drive sustainable maritime logistics across Northern Europe.

Development of the Green Ship 2.0 program began in 2021, drawing on technical data from previous fleet projects to refine equipment reliability and port turnaround times. Bernhard Termühlen, Managing Director at TT-Line, noted that the high-performance cargo handling systems are critical for maintaining service standards while meeting environmental targets. MacGregor’s Magnus Sjöberg added that the project utilized cross-border engineering teams from Sweden, China, Poland, Germany, and Croatia to deliver the integrated solution.
