The collaboration introduces the BodyCam Narrative feature, which allows officers to link body camera footage directly to their incident reports. The system generates a preliminary draft based on video and audio, embedding time-stamped references to specific events. This framework is designed to eliminate the common struggle of reconstructing complex timelines after long shifts. To ensure accuracy, the software embeds intentional inaccuracies—or 'Easter eggs'—into the drafts, forcing officers to manually review and verify every detail before final submission.

Caliber Public Safety Integrates Abel Police AI to Streamline Reporting
Patrol officers burdened by extensive paperwork are gaining a reprieve through a new partnership between Caliber Public Safety and Abel Police. By integrating AI-driven narrative generation directly into the Caliber Online RMS, the initiative aims to slash administrative hours while maintaining strict human oversight of all field reports.
Beyond narrative drafting, the integration deploys a broader suite of field tools. Abel Chat provides CJIS-compliant answers regarding state law and agency policy, while Abel Translate supports voice-to-voice communication across 80 languages, complete with a mandatory consent prompt to protect civil rights. Abel Map further bolsters situational awareness by enabling real-time location sharing among units. According to Josh Bryant, Director of Project Management at Caliber, these tools are built to prioritize the practitioner’s judgment, ensuring that technology remains an assistant rather than a replacement for human authority. The suite is currently available for agency-level activation, with pilot programs offered to help departments measure efficiency gains before a full-scale transition.
