Saothair Capital Partners Rebrands FIFCO USA as North American Breweries

Private equity firm Saothair Capital Partners has acquired CCR American Holdings, known as FIFCO USA, from a Heineken N.V. subsidiary. Following the acquisition, the Rochester-based brewer will revert to its legacy identity, North American Breweries, as it prepares for a leadership transition under incoming CEO Peter Bodenham.

The deal transfers ownership from Distribuidora La Florida to Saothair, marking a strategic return to the NAB name for the producer of Labatt, Genesee, and Seagram's Escapes. Operating from the historic Genesee Brewery, the firm maintains a workforce of over 700 employees and continues its role as a major U.S. provider of contract brewing services. The facility recently underwent significant upgrades, including a new brewhouse and high-speed canning infrastructure.

Peter Bodenham, who previously served in senior marketing roles at the company between 2007 and 2014, returns to lead the business. His appointment aligns with Saothair’s goal of leveraging deep industry experience to stabilize and grow the brand portfolio. Rich Lozyniak, a Saothair partner and former NAB executive, noted that the firm intends to provide the resources necessary to maintain the brewery's regional heritage and market presence. Legal counsel for the transaction was provided by Jenner & Block LLP for the buyer, while Sidley Austin LLP and Bank of America advised Heineken.
