B&B Theatres Debuts Ohio’s First 4DX and Largest ScreenX Auditoriums

The expansion marks a significant push by CJ 4DPLEX and B&B Theatres to deepen their partnership, which has been growing since 2018. The new ScreenX space, integrated into the existing Grand Screen auditorium, utilizes a 57-foot-wide display to project panoramic visuals across the side walls, surrounding viewers with 198 recliner seats. By pairing this with Dolby Atmos, the companies aim to blend spatial audio with expansive sightlines to differentiate the experience from standard multiplex viewing.

Alongside the panoramic theater, the 98-seat 4DX auditorium introduces multisensory storytelling to Ohio. This environment synchronizes motion-controlled seating with environmental effects such as wind, water, scent, and vibration. According to Don Savant, president of CJ 4DPLEX Americas, the Liberty Township project serves as a practical demonstration of their joint efforts to standardize high-end immersive technology. B&B Theatres president Brock Bagby noted that these installations align with the company’s century-long history of adopting new cinema technology, from the transition to sound to modern digital recliners. Both formats are currently operational at the 7514 Bales St. site.
