With a valuation now tripled to $30 billion, data center developer Crusoe has secured $3 billion in fresh capital. The funding round, co-led by Atreides Management and Valor Equity Partners, underscores the surging demand for AI infrastructure as the firm pivots from its origins in crypto mining to hyperscale cloud services.

The capital injection includes backing from Mubadala Capital, the investment arm of Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth fund. This latest round arrives less than a year after the company raised $1.38 billion at a $10 billion valuation, signaling rapid investor confidence in its transition toward heavy-duty AI hardware and data center development.

Crusoe recently cemented its market position by signing a $13 billion, five-year agreement to provide GPU capacity and infrastructure to the quantitative trading firm Jane Street. Having evolved from a niche operation repurposing flared natural gas into a key partner for Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI, the company is now positioning itself for a potential public listing. Management has recently engaged with investment banks including Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to weigh the path toward an initial public offering.
