The partnership combines SEDCO Capital’s local market expertise and its 50 billion SAR in assets under management with Wahed’s digital investment infrastructure. By creating a publicly offered, professionally managed portfolio, the firms intend to lower the historical barriers to entry for international investors, such as high capital requirements and fragmented local market regulations. The suite focuses on accommodation, hospitality, and infrastructure projects necessary to support the 30 million annual Umrah pilgrims targeted by the Saudi government by 2030.

SEDCO Capital and Wahed Partner on Makkah and Madinah Real Estate
Jeddah-based asset manager SEDCO Capital and New York fintech firm Wahed are launching a Shariah-compliant real estate investment suite targeting the cities of Makkah and Madinah. The collaboration aims to open restricted Saudi property markets to Wahed’s 500,000 global clients, aligning with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 economic diversification goals.

Wahed CEO Mohsin Siddiqui noted that the product responds to persistent client demand for faith-based investment vehicles in the Two Holy Cities. For SEDCO Capital, the deal represents a shift in strategy to channel international private capital into long-term real assets. This initiative follows the success of Wahed’s previous U.S.-based real estate fund, which utilized a low-minimum entry model to democratize access to institutional-grade property holdings. Both entities expect this new vehicle to deepen Saudi capital markets while addressing the essential infrastructure needs of a rapidly expanding pilgrim and visitor economy.
