German telecommunications provider 1&1 Versatel has initiated a nationwide rollout of Ekinops connectivity hardware, aiming to simplify its managed services portfolio. By consolidating multiple functions into single customer premises equipment units, the Düsseldorf-based operator intends to reduce on-site device clutter while accelerating the deployment of high-speed enterprise offerings.
Martin Fischer, CTO of 1&1 Versatel, noted that reducing the variety of models in use simplifies management across the device lifecycle and improves the end-user experience.
