CNCF Adds Nine Silver Members to Bolster AI Infrastructure

The Cloud Native Computing Foundation has expanded its ranks with nine new members, including SoftBank Corp. and Crusoe, as the industry pivots from experimental AI training to round-the-clock production inference. This influx of expertise aims to address the urgent demand for resource optimization and sovereign infrastructure across global tech ecosystems.

CNCF Adds Nine Silver Members to Bolster AI Infrastructure

The new cohort joins nearly 800 existing members within the CNCF ecosystem, signaling a broader market shift toward maximizing existing compute resources rather than simple capacity expansion. Jonathan Bryce, executive director of CNCF, noted that open source communities are currently the primary drivers for the orchestration and observability layers required to maintain production-scale AI.

Among the new Silver members are firms specializing in autonomous code optimization and cloud efficiency. Ascendra Networks claims its vertical scaling solutions can reduce cloud costs by over 70%, while CodeVisionary focuses on eliminating computational waste in legacy and AI-generated code. Other additions include Infino AI, which provides high-speed retrieval engines for large-scale document processing, and Valarian Technologies, which emphasizes sovereign digital infrastructure.

SoftBank Corp. enters the foundation as part of its strategy to evolve into a provider of next-generation social infrastructure, leveraging its global telecom footprint to scale AI services. Additionally, the legal-tech firm Legora joins as a Silver End User Member, utilizing Kubernetes-based platforms to power its multi-region operations. These organizations gain access to a suite of CNCF resources, including project working groups and legal support, as they work to make AI infrastructure more accessible and efficient.
