Suunto Launches Run 2 With Lightweight Design and Advanced Metrics

Suunto has introduced the Run 2, a performance-focused running watch weighing just 35 grams. Designed for both daily training and marathon efforts, the device integrates a high-brightness AMOLED display with upgraded heart rate sensors and dual-band GNSS, aiming to provide runners with precise, real-time data from the first mile to race day.

The new hardware centers on a 1.32-inch display capable of reaching 2,000 nits, ensuring visibility even in direct sunlight. Built for continuous wear, the 11.7 mm thick chassis houses a battery that supports up to 10 days of everyday use or 24 hours of dual-band GNSS tracking. Durability is bolstered by a stainless steel bezel and Gorilla Glass, while the watch maintains a 5 ATM water resistance rating for varied weather conditions.

Suunto has overhauled the biometric tracking suite with a 12-channel wrist heart rate sensor. For athletes requiring deeper physiological insights, the watch pairs with the newly released Smart Heart Rate Belt 2. This chest strap provides ECG-based detection and supports ZoneSense, a feature that monitors heart rate variability to determine actual exercise intensity. The watch also includes onboard offline maps and storage for music, allowing runners to train without carrying a smartphone. The Suunto Run 2 is available starting September 8, 2026, with pricing set at $349 for the 4 GB model and $399 for the 64 GB version.
