Genesis House Taps Hand Hospitality for Meatpacking District Refresh

The transition begins this September, with the restaurant space temporarily closing to facilitate the transition. While the dining area undergoes a refresh, the surrounding Genesis House showroom remains fully operational, continuing to display the brand’s automotive lineup, including the new GV90 flagship SUV. The partnership aims to blend the automotive brand’s Korean heritage with the operational expertise of Hand Hospitality, a group recognized for its portfolio of acclaimed local concepts like Jua and Her Name Is Han.

Tedros Mengiste, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America, described the move as a foundation for future growth, noting that the restaurant remains a central pillar of the site's "Son-nim" philosophy of treating visitors as honored guests. Alex Park, director of Hand Hospitality, stated that the group intends to bridge traditional Korean culinary perspectives with the fast-paced energy of the New York dining scene. Further details regarding the revamped menu and official reopening date are expected in the coming months.
