Civil Society Panel Declares Ongoing Genocide in Gaza

The Jury of Conscience, led by University of Michigan law professor Christine Chinkin, identified nine distinct categories of crimes against Palestinians. These findings encompass the systematic destruction of food and water systems, the targeting of reproductive care, and the widespread annihilation of educational and healthcare infrastructure. The panel also highlighted 'domicide' and 'scholasticide' as deliberate strategies to render Gaza uninhabitable.

Beyond the primary findings, the tribunal explicitly named the United States and other Western governments as complicit in these actions through the provision of military aid and diplomatic cover. The jury called for a comprehensive global movement to resist these policies and urged UN member states to invoke the 1950 'United for Peace' resolution. This mechanism would allow the General Assembly to bypass Security Council vetoes to potentially mandate an armed protection force or reject Israel’s credentials, aiming to dismantle the structures sustaining the current conflict.
