Tesla Sets October 1 Date for Second-Generation Roadster Reveal

The upcoming unveiling follows years of mounting anticipation and repeated production delays that have frustrated early reservation holders. Public interest in the vehicle recently sparked a digital exchange between Elon Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, who questioned the lengthy wait time after putting down a $50,000 deposit. Reports indicate that Tesla scrapped the original 2017 design in favor of a completely overhauled model.

Beyond the aesthetic and structural updates, the reveal is expected to highlight the integration of cold gas thrusters. These components, developed in collaboration with SpaceX, aim to provide the vehicle with unique propulsion capabilities. Despite the October launch event, potential buyers should anticipate further delays, as Musk has previously stated that full-scale production remains at least 12 to 18 months away from the reveal date.
