Sokin Integrates Financial Infrastructure With AI Agents

London-based financial platform Sokin has launched a Model Context Protocol connector, allowing businesses to execute cross-border payments and treasury operations directly through AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude. The integration aims to automate manual accounting tasks while maintaining human oversight for every transaction.

The new connector bridges Sokin’s licensed payment infrastructure with large language models, enabling finance teams to retrieve live balances, secure FX quotes, and draft payment instructions without exiting their AI interface. During internal testing, the system processed 10 multi-currency invoices in less than 10 minutes, a task that typically consumes hours of manual data entry. Unlike read-only integrations currently common in the fintech space, Sokin’s protocol allows agents to initiate functional operations, including beneficiary creation and currency exchange.

Despite the automation, Sokin maintains a strict human-in-the-loop requirement. Every instruction generated by an AI agent must be reviewed and confirmed by an authorized user. Once confirmed, the transaction is subject to the company's existing approval rules before settling on Sokin's proprietary rails. Sokin currently holds licenses across 36 countries, supporting transactions in over 70 currencies. According to Chief Strategy Officer Pete Daunton, the shift from passive data retrieval to active agentic work is essential for delivering actual time savings to corporate treasury departments.
