The Systems Group Expands Into Industrial HVAC for Steel Mills

To address the specialized climate control needs of the metal industry, Arkansas-based The Systems Group has launched Systems Cool Air Solutions. The new division offers dedicated HVAC installations and 24/7 emergency services, marking the organization’s eighth operating entity focused exclusively on the extreme demands of steel mill environments.

The division will be led by General Manager Ted Smith, who brings over three decades of industrial HVAC experience, and Sales Director Kyle Elkins. Operating out of Blytheville, the team will provide climate control for control rooms, motor control centers, and overhead crane cabs, alongside custom ductwork and industrial refrigeration. By keeping its scope limited to steel and metal facilities, the company aims to resolve common industry frustrations regarding contractors who lack specific knowledge of harsh mill conditions.

This expansion integrates with TSG’s existing portfolio, which includes refractory solutions, fabrication, and air filtration. CEO Lee Morgan stated that the move allows the group to manage nearly every service requirement for a steel producer under a single master agreement. With a workforce of approximately 1,000 employees, the company plans to deploy these specialized service teams to steel mills across the United States.
