Cooper Companies Faces Investor Scrutiny After Inventory Disclosure

A sudden 14.6% plunge in The Cooper Companies’ stock price has triggered a formal investigation by Hagens Berman. The firm is examining whether the medical device manufacturer misled shareholders regarding its U.S. channel inventory practices, following a sharp revenue guidance reduction that wiped $1.7 billion from the company’s market capitalization.

The volatility followed the company’s Q3 2026 financial report, which revealed significant destocking within its CooperVision segment. While management had projected organic revenue growth of up to 4.5% during their June earnings call, the September disclosure painted a starkly different picture. CEO Albert White III confirmed that the entire downward revision in revenue guidance was directly tied to channel inventory adjustments, sparking concerns among analysts about past sales strategies and potential efforts to inflate prior performance metrics.

Shares fell to a 52-week low of $54.17 as analysts scrambled to downgrade their outlooks. Reed Kathrein, the partner leading the Hagens Berman investigation, stated the firm is now scrutinizing whether Cooper maintained sufficient transparency with investors regarding its sales mechanics. The firm is currently soliciting input from shareholders who suffered losses and individuals with non-public information concerning the company's internal practices.
