The resumption of field work marks a strategic pivot for the company, which halted operations in January 2026 to engage in constructive dialogue with local First Nations. This current phase of exploration is backed by an extended permit and follows years of direct relationship-building with communities whose traditional territories encompass the W2 site. CEO Greg Ferron noted that the collaboration with local businesses for training and logistical support remains a cornerstone of the company’s operational safety in the remote region.

PTX Metals Resumes Exploration at W2 Project in Ontario's Ring of Fire
After a months-long pause to facilitate community consultation, PTX Metals has officially restarted its 5,000-metre diamond drilling program at the W2 copper-nickel-PGE project. The Toronto-based miner is prioritizing the CA1 Zone while simultaneously launching soil sampling initiatives to identify new mineral prospects across the northwestern Ontario property.

Technically, the exploration focuses on the Landsdowne House Igneous Complex, a geological formation known for magmatic sulphide deposits. By testing the CA1 Zone, PTX aims to refine its model for gravitational sulphide segregation, a process linked to high-value mineral occurrences. Alongside these field efforts, the company has retained DK Capital Partners to manage a four-month investor outreach program. This marketing push includes a cash payment of $18,500 and the issuance of 200,000 stock options, pending regulatory approval from the TSX Venture Exchange.
