Tecnau Connect Expands Industrial IoT Reach for Digital Print Finishing

As print shops grapple with shorter runs and rising turnaround expectations, Tecnau is pushing its Industrial IoT platform, Tecnau Connect, into the U.S. market. The system translates high-speed finishing data into actionable performance metrics, shifting production management from guesswork toward evidence-based troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

The platform aggregates data from connected finishing lines, creating a centralized hub for tracking Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), line status, and error histories. By distinguishing between isolated technical glitches and cascading production failures, the software allows maintenance teams and production managers to isolate root causes rather than simply responding to symptoms.

Emanuela De Marco, Chief Technology Officer at Tecnau, notes that the platform provides transparency into why stoppages occur, rather than merely logging that they happened. This capability is integrated into the company’s Revolution 50 and Libra 800 systems, among others. Beyond diagnostics, the platform facilitates condition-based maintenance by tracking component cycles and operating hours, which helps teams schedule repairs before unplanned downtime disrupts the workflow. Secure remote access further allows Tecnau specialists to perform troubleshooting and software updates directly, supporting global operations from a distance.
