CorelDRAW September Update Shifts AI Focus to Production Efficiency

CorelDRAW’s September 2026 update introduces a Text-to-Vector tool and upgraded bitmap-to-vector tracing, aiming to streamline professional design workflows rather than replace human creativity. The release prioritizes the editability of generated assets, ensuring that print shops and apparel decorators can maintain precise control over their final production output.

CorelDRAW September Update Shifts AI Focus to Production Efficiency

The centerpiece of this release is the Text-to-Vector feature, accessible through the AI Generate inspector. By generating scalable, node-based graphics from prompts, the software provides a quicker starting point for concepts. Crucially, the output remains fully editable, allowing designers to tweak nodes and proportions manually. This aligns with Corel’s "Artist Intelligence" philosophy, which frames AI as an accelerator for exploratory tasks rather than a substitute for professional judgment.

Alongside generative tools, the company has overhauled PowerTRACE. The update targets a common pain point for production teams: converting low-quality client-supplied raster files into clean, usable vector art. With improved object structure and background removal, Corel reports that tracing performance is now up to four times faster. These enhancements are complemented by expanded browser capabilities in CorelDRAW Web, which now supports custom font uploads and DWG/DXF exports for fabrication workflows.

To encourage adoption, Corel is hosting an "AI Unlock Week" from September 15 through September 22, 2026. During this window, all users—including those on free trials—can access unlimited AI vector generation without consuming their standard monthly credit allocation. Following the promotional period, subscribers and maintenance users will continue to receive 2,000 AI credits monthly to support their ongoing project requirements.
