TMEIC Launches Flagship Power Electronics Facility in Texas

The new Twinwood plant is designed to manufacture large-scale uninterruptible power supply units, essential for the data center market, alongside high-power, medium-voltage drives. Beyond assembly lines, the site incorporates technology laboratories and a dedicated client training center to support long-term engineering growth in the United States. Current projections indicate that as the facility scales, the workforce will grow to 500 employees.

Kensuke Miyano, Vice President of the Power Electronics Systems Division, noted that the location in the global energy capital positions the company to better serve the artificial intelligence and infrastructure sectors. The project integrates sustainability into its core, featuring on-site solar power generation and battery energy storage systems, aligning with the company’s goal to reach carbon neutrality by 2050. This expansion complements TMEIC’s existing footprint in the Houston metropolitan area, including its headquarters in the Energy Corridor and manufacturing sites in Westport and Katy.
