Staten Island Inventor Patents Baseball Cap Designed for Mobile Filming

A Staten Island inventor has developed a modified baseball cap, dubbed the applecapz, designed to secure a smartphone for hands-free operation. The patent-pending headwear aims to simplify mobile streaming and video recording, allowing users to capture footage while hiking, walking, or driving without the fatigue of holding a device.

The design addresses the physical inconvenience of manual phone handling by integrating a mounting system directly into the hat's structure. By stabilizing the device, the inventor claims the cap provides a steadier perspective for filming while keeping the user’s hands free for other tasks. The product is marketed toward outdoor enthusiasts and drivers who require continuous access to their mobile devices.

InventHelp, a Pittsburgh-based invention submission service, is currently managing the licensing and sale of the patent-pending design to potential manufacturers. A prototype and technical schematics are available for industry partners interested in the product's commercial viability.
