Rosewood Hong Kong Retains Top Spot in 2026 World’s Best Hotels Ranking

For the second year running, Rosewood Hong Kong has claimed the top position in The 50 Best Hotels list, cementing its status as the world’s premier destination for luxury travelers. The ranking, revealed at a ceremony in Paris, highlights a global industry shift where European establishments continue to dominate the field.

The 2026 list encompasses properties across 22 destinations, with Europe leading the pack by securing 21 of the 50 spots. Following the champion, Capella Bangkok and Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River rounded out the top three, reflecting Asia’s strong showing with 18 total entries. Japan alone contributed four properties to the list, including the Nikka Best New Hotel Award winner, Patina Osaka.

Beyond the primary rankings, individual excellence was celebrated through specialized accolades. Passalacqua in Lake Como secured the Best Boutique Hotel title for the third consecutive year, while Mexico’s Chablé Yucatán took home the Bombay Sapphire Eco Hotel Award. Other notable distinctions included the SevenRooms Icon Award for James McBride and the Lavazza Highest New Entry Award for Casa Maria Luigia in Modena. The ceremony also recognized Atlantis The Royal in Dubai as the Best Beach Hotel, and Badrutt’s Palace in Switzerland received the SeiBellissimi Art of Hospitality Award.
