Two Canadian technology giants, OpenText and Cohere, are joining forces to integrate enterprise data with sovereign AI models. Announced at the ALL IN AI conference in Montreal, the partnership aims to provide governments and highly regulated industries with secure, deployable agentic AI systems starting in early 2027.
OpenText CEO Ayman Antoun emphasized that data acts as the essential context for purposeful AI, while Cohere CEO Aidan Gomez highlighted the necessity of maintaining control over data residency. The integrated solution will be incorporated into OpenText’s Aviator AI agents, with a strategic reseller agreement through SOLEX allowing for broader distribution. The companies expect this architecture to address the specific requirements of federal governments, financial institutions, and healthcare providers that prioritize security and strict data governance.
