BlueLabs Elevates Joy Wilke to Lead Polling Strategy

“Polling is harder than ever. Response rates are at an all-time low, and AI-driven bots are flooding online panels,” says Joy Wilke, who now takes the helm as Vice President of Polling at the analytics firm BlueLabs, tasked with navigating a landscape where traditional survey methods increasingly struggle to capture public opinion.

BlueLabs Elevates Joy Wilke to Lead Polling Strategy

Wilke brings a decade of methodological expertise to her new position, where she will oversee the firm’s polling and focus group operations. Her promotion marks a strategic pivot for BlueLabs as the organization moves to address the growing prevalence of fraudulent survey responses and the challenge of engaging historically unreachable voters. Co-founder Elan Kriegel praised Wilke as a brilliant statistician whose work has been instrumental in refining the firm’s multimodal research approaches.

Her methodology focuses on the "dynamic electorate"—the group of voters who drift in and out of participation between election cycles. Research she presented at the American Association for Public Opinion Research conference highlights that these individuals, often exhausted by economic pressures and political noise, require specialized survey design. With a background that includes tenures at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the Gallup Organization, Wilke holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from UCLA and an M.S. in Survey Methodology from the University of Michigan. She now aims to integrate qualitative insights into the firm’s data-heavy polling framework to better explain not just what audiences think, but why.
