Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes Collection Arrives in Digital Format
For the first time, Bill Watterson’s complete Calvin and Hobbes archive is transitioning to digital. Andrews McMeel Universal announced that 14 volumes of the Portable Compendium series will debut as ebooks on October 6, 2026, alongside Watterson and John Kascht’s illustrated fable, The Mysteries.

Beyond the publishing milestones, the enduring influence of the iconic duo will be highlighted through a traveling exhibition titled Exploring Calvin and Hobbes. Debuting at the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, on November 14, 2026, the show features original daily and Sunday strips. Curated by Jenny E. Robb of the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, the exhibition offers a rare public view of Watterson’s original drawings, running through May 31, 2027.
