The firm plans to anchor its American growth by establishing a domestic manufacturing facility. This move is designed to streamline logistics and stabilize direct copper sourcing for customers who require high-performance materials without the cost of pure metal. Vertex Material’s products are engineered to replicate the specific electrical and thermal traits of copper, providing an alternative for industrial applications where full copper composition is unnecessary.
This expansion comes as the International Energy Agency projects a 30% supply deficit in the $248.2 billion global copper market by 2035. Driven by defense, semiconductor, and AI sectors, the surge in demand has pressured manufacturers to innovate. Vertex Material has already secured an offtake agreement for 160,000 metric tons of its composite annually, validated by its current pilot plant operations in Malaysia.
