IQSTEL Targets Mobile Microdrama Market with New Billing Model

IQSTEL is positioning its digital division to capture recurring revenue through short-form vertical video, estimating that 300,000 active monthly subscribers could generate up to $21.6 million in annual billings. The company aims to leverage its existing infrastructure across 600 telecom operators to monetize the rapidly growing mobile entertainment category.

IQSTEL Targets Mobile Microdrama Market with New Billing Model

The strategy centers on a revenue-sharing model where mobile operators, content partners, and IQSTEL divide proceeds from monthly subscriptions priced between $4 and $6. By utilizing direct carrier billing, the company intends to lower payment barriers for users in emerging markets, particularly Latin America. Each active subscriber is projected to contribute roughly $0.50 to $1.00 in monthly profit to the company, a margin structure that leadership views as superior to traditional telecommunications services.

To showcase the format, the company has released an original microdrama demo designed for vertical mobile viewing. Leandro Iglesias, CEO of IQSTEL, stated that the initiative is designed to convert existing telecom relationships into higher-margin digital streams. While the company has set an objective to reach 500,000 gross paying subscriptions by the end of 2027, management emphasized that current projections are illustrative models based on potential market penetration rather than guaranteed financial outcomes. The broader goal is to establish a distribution platform capable of delivering various digital services, including fintech and cybersecurity, to a potential reach of 2.3 billion end users.
