Belgrade Expo 2027 Targets Slovak Market to Bolster Regional Tourism

Slovakia became the first nation to commit to the upcoming EXPO 2027 Belgrade, a milestone celebrated during a recent industry roadshow in Bratislava. Serbian officials leveraged the visit to deepen economic ties, inviting Slovak tour operators to integrate Serbia’s historic sites and mountain resorts into their future travel itineraries.

Belgrade Expo 2027 Targets Slovak Market to Bolster Regional Tourism

The "Visit Serbia" campaign arrives as bilateral trade between the two nations reaches new heights, hitting 1.3 billion euros in 2025—a 15 percent jump from the previous year. Igor Kovačević, Executive Director of the Belgrade event, emphasized that the partnership reflects a long-standing business connection between the Western Balkans and Slovakia. With more than 135 countries already confirmed, the expo is positioned as a primary vehicle for regional growth.

Slovakia’s Commissioner General, Lukáš Parízek, is currently overseeing the development of the country's national pavilion, which serves as a central hub for trade delegates. For Matej Fekete, Director General of SLOVAKIA TRAVEL, the 93-day exhibition represents a rare opportunity to move beyond simple tourism, functioning instead as a global platform for long-term commercial awareness. The expo, themed "Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All," runs from 15 May to 15 August 2027.
