The Boston-based company recently finalized a development cycle to adapt Meta’s hardware for the specific demands of a dealership service drive. Rather than operating as a standalone tool, the integration feeds video and transcriptions directly into existing Dealer Management Systems (DMS). According to Douglas Chrystall, TruVideo’s CTO, the goal was to ensure the technology fits existing shop floor routines without requiring technicians to learn new interfaces.

Technicians in automotive and trucking service centers can now control video documentation using only their voices. By integrating Meta’s AI glasses, TruVideo aims to eliminate the friction between performing mechanical repairs and recording them, allowing staff to maintain a hands-free workflow while capturing essential inspection data for customers.
This compatibility enables voice-activated recording, which the company claims provides the transparency modern vehicle owners expect during maintenance. The firm is already planning the next iteration of this feature: an intelligent voice assistant capable of pulling a vehicle’s specific service history to guide technicians through repairs step-by-step. CEO Joe Shaker noted that the shift is intended to resolve the long-standing conflict between hands-on mechanical work and the administrative burden of documentation. Access to the integration is currently being rolled out to select customers.
