Sercomm Unveils 50G PON Hardware for High-Speed Fiber Upgrades
At the SCTE TechExpo26 in Atlanta, Sercomm has launched an ITU-T G.9804.3-compliant 50G PON portfolio designed to handle the surge in bandwidth consumption. The new ecosystem allows service providers to deploy symmetrical multi-gigabit connectivity while maintaining backward compatibility with existing GPON and XGS-PON infrastructure.
Chief Commercial Officer Dan Whalen highlighted that the portfolio integrates optimized Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation and network slicing to support diverse deployment models. The ecosystem features high-performance residential gateways and SFP pluggable ONUs, which are slated to work in tandem with the company’s upcoming Wi-Fi 8 gateway solutions. Sercomm will demonstrate these interoperable capabilities at booth I1638 during the TechExpo event, which runs from September 29 to October 1 in Atlanta.
